A Collection of My Favorite Bruschetta and Crostini Recipes!

Bruschetta and crostini…you my be wondering how they differ? While the words are pretty much used interchangeably here in the states the slight difference boils down the bread used. Crostini means ‘little toasts’, small thinly sliced bread usually with a finer texture. Bruschetta ( BTW Italians pronounce it with the ‘k’ sound not the ‘shhh’ sound) are usually larger, thicker slices of rustic Italian or sourdough bread. After toasting, crostini and bruschetta are often rubbed with garlic, brushed olive oil and topped with just about anything delicious!

The Cucumber and Tomato Tartine

I am taking some liberties here because a tartine is neither a crostini nor a bruschetta.  A tartine actually and open faced sandwich, but I toast the bread so close enough in my book! This Cucumber and Tomato Tartine is topped with cottage cheese, sprinkled with herbs de Provence, pine nuts and chives….mmmmmmm!

  1. I love a good bruschetta. My favorite is the caprese on your list. I am going to pin this. Bruschetta are so good for parties and with the spring coming, I am sure I will need some good recipes for entertaining!

  2. These gorgeous crostini and bruschetta photos have my mouth watering! I love your blog. I always walk away with beautiful new ideas and great recipe inspiration. I have one of these lovely images posted to my main food board on Pinterest, but now I will be pinning a second image to a group board to share the love even more! 🙂

  3. In addition to pronouncing bruschetta with a k, a soft rolling of the r and hand gesture really helps with enunciation. For pronouncing bruschetta properly, you’re going to want to face your palm down to start, and as you roll your r, flip your palm up and motion away from your body quickly.

  4. I love all these – and these have so many of my favorites in them – avocados, cucumbers, etc. and etc.! I want it all – I sure wish you lived next door to me – I would come knocking on your door and beg for food! 🙂 🙂

  5. These look so delicious! I never considered putting FRUIT on bruchetta before but it sounds amazing! Definitely going to have to give that strawberry avocado bruchetta a try 🙂
