Cheese, grapes and crackers on a white plate: No Fuss Appetizer Platter

No fuss appetizer platter with purple grapes, gouds cheese slices, hearty crackers, marcona almonds, and goat cheese topped with fig spread

The No Fuss Appetizer Platter:

When I say no fuss I mean no fuss! With the exception of slicing the gouda (aged five years btw) there is no work! All these items can be purchased at the grocery store and the platter takes five minutes to put together!

The making of the No fuss appetizer platter set on a cutting board: a jar of fig spread, marcona almonds ina bad, a wedge of gouda cheese, a round of goat cheese, a package of crackers, and one bunch of grapes

What’s on The Platter?

Let’s start with the the crackers, they are Raincoast Crisps by Leslie Stowe. They are really more like bread crisps than a cracker and come in a variety of flavors! Notice the beautiful nuts and seeds baked right in. No wonder they are my favorite! I buy them in the Whole Foods Market gourmet section.

Next up, the fig spread and goat cheese!

Oh boy, these two items combined are outrageously good! I use Matica Caprichio de Cabra (goat cheese) from Whole Foods Market. It is the best goat cheese I have come across! But whatever brand you choose, go with a log that can be cut to size. That way you end up with a perfect round that can be topped with Organic Adriatic Fig Spread (see the little jar with the orange lid above) also from the Gourmet Section at Whole Foods or Sprouts Markets. Just spoon the fig spread onto the goat cheese and then spread on a cracker!

Every Cheese Platter Needs Some Nuts:

Let’s talk about Marcona almonds. These delicious little treats are blanched almonds coated in olive oil, rosemary and sea salt. I buy mine at Trader Joe’s but they can be found in almost any super market.

The Cheese…it’s so Gouda!

Okay, I apologize, I just can’t resist a food pun. This gouda is aged five years! It tastes like caramel and cheese all rolled into one. Eaten on the crackers or alone followed by sweet red grapes, well, it’s heavenly…just heavenly! I buy Uniekaas at WF”s but Trader Joe’s also sells a 1000 day aged Gouda that is very good.

Working with a Budget?

Putting this entire platter together will cost about $40. If that is not in your budget just do the gouda, grapes and crackers…or the almonds and grapes, or the goat cheese/fig spread and crackers! You can divide it anyway you wish and the party guests will still rave and be none the wiser that you went to absolutely no fuss!
