
A delicious, simple, affordable steak recipe made in about 22 minutes.
Season one side of steak lightly-medium with smoked paprika, chili powder, and onion powder, then generously season with sea salt and black pepper. Turn and repeat on other side.
Heat a cast iron skillet on high heat for two minutes. Add olive oil and heat for 30 seconds. Add steak to skillet and lower heat to medium, cook for five minutes. Flip and cook for five more minutes. While steak cooks, mince garlic and chop chives.
When steak is done, remove from pan. Turn off heat and immediately add butter, allow to melt, when butter is melted turn heat to low and add garlic. Use a spatula to scrap bottom of pan releasing brown bits and seasonings. Cook for one minute. Turn off heat.
Slice the steak against the grain into 1/2 thick slices. (You can see the grain going in one direction, cut across those lines)
Plate steak and pour garlic butter over steak and garnish with chives. Serve.
