How to Make Chocolate Bark

 

The great thing about chocolate bark…besides the taste of course, is that it takes minutes to make, dark chocolate is loaded with antioxidants and the combinations you can put together are endless! Everything tastes great with chocolate. I’ve even seen bacon chocolate bark! This Dessert is simple, only three ingredients: good quality chocolate, smoked almonds and sea salt.  To read more about the history and health benefits of chocolate, click here.

I always use Maldon Flaked Sea Salt here at The Organic Kitchen. It has a pure clean taste with no iodine or chemicals to make it flow.

Use a double boiler to melt 12 oz dark chocolate and 1 tsp coconut oil...

Or make your own double boiler by placing a bowl over a pot. Just be sure the water isn’t touching the bottom of the bowl, we want the steam to melt the chocolate not the boiling water.

Chop nuts (about 1/3 cup) and place 2/3 of them on wax paper. Pour melted chocolate over nuts, sprinkle remaining nuts on top. Then sprinkle generously with sea salt, place in the fridge till hardened and then use a sharp knife to cut into pieces. (I use and 8″ Wusthof Chef’s knife)

 Variation:
