Cowboy Butter Steak Bites: So Easy!
To make Cowboy Butter Steak Bites, first you make your cowboy butter, which is just another way of saying compound butter. That means you take soft butter and add herbs and spices and mix it together. Easy right? Then cut steak into bite size chunks, cook in olive oil for a few minutes and then add the compound butter. That herby better melts and makes the most flavorful sauce!

The Steak:
You can use top sirloin, rib-eye, or filet mignon. The most tender result will come from using filet mignon, that said some people prefer the fat content of the other two cuts, and budgets are real. So choose your favorite!
The Cowboy Butter:
The compound butter I use for this recipe is made with dried herbs. Why? Because I hate spending a fortune on fresh herbs to only use a teaspoon. And I know the dried herbs won’t go to waste because I use the same dried herbs in my homemade ranch dressing. Two birds, one stone.

I Promise You’re Going to Love it:
I mean look at it. Mouthwatering right? Your best bet for a pan is to use a cast iron skillet. Cast iron distributes heat evenly and gives the steak a nice sear.

What to Serve it With:
You can serve this steak as is, with a side of veggies, or place it on my Traditional Mashed Potatoes. Wow!

Can You Make Them in Advance and Freeze?
Yes you sure can! Simply allow steak bites to cool and put them in a freezer safe container or baggie and freeze for up to three months. The cowboy butter can be frozen too!
