How to Make Easy Caramel Pecan Turtles:
When I say easy, I mean easy. But before we get to the process let’s talk ingredients. To make these Easy Caramel Pecan Turtles we only use four ingredients: pecans, caramel, chocolate and sea salt. When using so few ingredients you want to make sure each ingredient is top notch, so use the freshest pecans, quality caramels, really good chocolate, and a flaked or kosher sea salt so you get that wonderful little “bite” of sea salt on each little morsel! I use Werther’s original wrapped caramels, Ghiradelli 60% dark chocolate chips and Maldon’s Flaked sea salt ,it’s the best! (Save money by buying in bulk.)

The Process:
First, I place whole pecans in groups of four on wax paper. Then I melt the caramels in the microwave and place a dollup on each group of pecans. Then I melt the chocolate and spoon on top of the caramel, and last, I sprinkle with sea salt. Simply let them firm up and they are serve! They stay good in a sealed container for a couple of weeks so these are ideal to make ahead.

Melting the Caramel and Chocolate:
Caramels and chocolate usually have melting instructions on the package. Follow those instructions. If the caramels or chocolate you buy do not have instructions usually you melt in the microwave at 50% power one minute at a time until melted, stirring in between adding time. Caramel melts super fast, so keep and I eye out.

The recipe: Easy Caramel Pecan Turtles
Tips and what you need: cooking spray, wax paper, good quality sea salt flakes or kosher salt flakes.

Easy to make and simply delicious!
- your favorite cooking spray (I use a coconut oil spray for this one)
- 40 whole pecans
- 20 wrapped caramels, (unwrapped and melted)
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips, melted
- several pinches of good quality sea salt flakes
-
Spray wax paper with a light coating of cooking spray, this helps to keep the turtles from sticking.
-
Place pecans in groups of four in a flower (or cross) shape

-
Melt caramel in a microwave according to package instructions. If your caramels don't have instructions, melt in the microwave at 50% power for 30 seconds, stir, if they need more time, repeat. But keep an eye on them they melt fast! Spoon over each group of pecans.

-
Melt chocolate in glass measuring cup according to package instructions (usually melt in the microwave at 50% power for 60 seconds, stir and repeat until melted and smooth) Spoon on top of caramel. Sprinkle with small pinches of sea salt. Allow to firm up before serving, this can take about an hour. Enjoy!

Confused why using the name organic. I searched for clean caramel pecan turtles,🐢 🐢 and your recipe is worthers caramels melted. Stops me in my tracks to have any desire to look through recipes offered here. I recognize its not easy to use all clean ingredients. It just feels very deceiving. Clean eats are incredibly essential for healthier choices. It would be absolutely respectful to have a name that didnt include organic, with offered recipes of both clean and processed food recipes. Organic farmers have enormous challenges as it is. Just feeling rather disappointed.
Sorry you’re disappointed Kristina. Maybe you should start your own organic blog, spending time, money and hours of effort developing, creating, and photographing recipes that are up to your own standards instead of coming to my blog that offers almost exclusively healthy recipes FOR FREE and finding the one that disappoints you.
Linda, you go girl!
Some people just are so negative. I feel sorry for people who just can’t see the good.
Thank Rita! I appreciate you!
rude. You could have easily used this same recipe and just swapped out the products you bought. No need to get rude with someone, especially when they have done an excellent job creating their blog. Just scroll on if you don’t like something. Just saying.
