Do you remember that old summer camp tune “Rise and shine and sing out the glory, glory!”? We used to sing that at Camp Hollywoodland. Yes, I went to summer camp in Hollywood…is that weird? Probably, but everything in Hollywood is a little weird. My point is every time I drink this juice I want to sing that song! Hence the name, The Morning Glory Juice!
The Morning Glory Juice is a perfect combination of fresh orange, apple and lemon juice with just the right amount of this superfood…
That my friends, is turmeric root. We sure didn’t have that at Camp Hollywoodland! Turmeric is an anti inflammatory powerhouse. You already know inflammation is the enemy right? Inflammation is at the root of disease so it only makes sense to add natural anti inflammatory foods like turmeric, ginger and fruits high in vitamin C to your daily regimen.
This morning juice is chock full of vitamin C and it is so delicious you will have a hard time believing it’s good for you. It’s easy on the eyes too! Look at that color. By the way the kids will love this juice too.
The Recipe: The Morning Glory Juice
Tips and what you will need: a good quality juicer is a must. I LOVE the Breville (affiliate links). Turmeric root can be found fresh at most grocery stores.
- 4 oranges
- 2 granny smith apples
- 1 lemon
- 2 inches turmeric root
-
Peel citrus and quarter apple. Run oranges and lemon through juicer, run turmeric through, then apples. Serve.

Oh, my goodness! I totally remember singing that song at camp! Your juice looks delicious!
haha! It was a song that got us riled up to face a day of lanyard making and horrible camp food I guess!
Sounds delicious! I have yet to find fresh turmeric root here, but I would love to juice it like this when I do!
That looks delicious! I haven’t been able to find fresh turmeric here yet, but when I do, I would love to juice it. Thanks for the inspiration!
You are welcome! I hope you can find it!
I want to try this but need to pick up some oranges. It just looks so bright and fresh. Yum!
Thanks Jess:)
This is not only beautiful, I love the nutrition in it, the emphasis on vitamin C as well as turmeric and apple juice’s cleansing properties. How lovely it must taste and feel to drink! Inspiring, must make!
Thanks Megan. Can you drink juices like this on GAPS or only veggie juices?
Does the juice make the turmeric less bitter? I grow turmeric but it doesn’t get as big as your picture. I never thought to use it in my drinks.
It must because I love it and I am not always a fan of turmeric! It seriously is so delicious and I use two inches of root!
This sounds so delicious! I love that you incorporated the turmeric. Such a beautiful drink.
Thanks Emily. You are the queen of pretty drinks so I take that as a real compliment!
I absolutely LOVE turmeric and this sounds delicious! I need a juicer ASAP. Thanks for recommending the Breville!
Love my Breville!
I want to try this! I have a juicer on my “I want” list…the list is quite long but this is at the top!
I hope you get one soon!
I could easily wake up to this!
I have not had my breville out for months! I’m pulling it out, dusting it off, and getting my morning glory on. I’m grateful it is tumeric and not ginger, I still can’t seem to get ginger down into the gut- though I know I need to. And as usual, your pictures are gorgeous.
Steve is not a fan of ginger either but can handle turmeric just fine!
Omg this taste so good! So happy I found this recipe!
