When we take the grandkids out to dinner, if there is a charcuterie board offered on the appetizer menu we order it for them for dinner. And they love it! So I thought why not make a charcuterie board school lunch?

What’s In It:
My charcuterie lunch has delicious prosciutto and salami, aged gouda, Leslie Stowe crackers, olives, and an assortment of fresh ripe melons. For dessert a single triangle of dark chocolate hits the spot! As soon as I was done taking pictures I ate the whole thing and let me tell you, it was delicious and filling. Melons are the perfect fruit to serve with charcuterie. The subtle sweetness works really well with the salty meats and savory cheeses, and the olives provide healthy fats to give your child energy for the rest of the day…so much goodness in one little box! And no cooking or fuss on your part! In fact you don’t even have to assemble a sandwich! (for younger kids I do recommend cutting up the meats).
The Planetbox keeps everything separated and comes with a cold pack to keep the food chilled. Notice that little yellow pod keeping the olives separated from the cheese? Those pods are new and allow you to create even more compartments when needed.

I have been looking at purchasing a Planetbox. My question is, if they are turned sideways or upside down, do the compartments leak inside the box? I have an older child who would not use the special backpack, and would want to put it in her “cool” backpack, which would have it sit sideways.
Sara, take a look at the other lunch posts I link to. Planet box makes these little leak proof containers for wet items. https://www.theorganickitchen.org/healthy-back-to-school-lunch-ideas-moms-and-kids-will-love/
This seems like such a cool thing to do for school lunches!
I want you to pack my lunches! They look so pretty. I have the hardest time thinking of things to send my kids!
Lol. I would be glad to pack your lunches:)
Come on over and pack my kids lunch any day of the week- YUM!
These are excellent ideas! I’m pinning them for when school starts. I make my kids pack their own lunches, but it’s nice to have good healthy ideas for them!
You are my hero.
