Chocolate Dipped Frozen Bananas and summer…two of my favorite things. Frozen bananas are an easy dessert favorite, not only because they are delicious but because they can be made ahead of time and served whenever you have a hankering for a chocolate-ly frozen treat.

How to Make Chocolate Dipped Frozen Bananas:

Simply cut ripe bananas in half, place on popsicle sticks and freeze. While bananas chill, melt chocolate and dip. It doesn’t get easier than that!

How to Melt Chocolate:

You can melt chocolate using a double boiler or the microwave. If you don’t have a double boiler, you can make one by placing a bowl over a small pot with an inch or two of water in it. Just make sure the water does not touch the bottom of the bowl, we want to stream to heat the bowl and melt the chocolate. If using the microwave, simple follow the melting instructions on the chocolate package.

Most recipes call for using vegetable oil to thin out the chocolate for dipping, I prefer to use a healthier oil for this job. So coconut oil it is!

To Sprinkle or Not to Sprinkle, That is The Question

I love a plain frozen banana dipped in chocolate but I also love adding chopped nuts, coconut, raisins, cocoa nibs…basically anything and everything is an option.
