Hello! I’m Linda Spiker, owner of The Organic Kitchen. I will be leading another free Whole30 group starting on March 1st, 2023 and I would love for you to join me! (this post contains affiliate links via my affiliation with Amazon.com)
Why Whole 30?
Quite honestly I never look or feel as good as I do when on the Whole 30 eating plan. But more importantly Whole30 has taught me how to eat in a way that is works for my body, not against it. I feel in total control of my food choices for probably the first time in my life, and I am 60!
What is Whole 30
Whole30 is an eating plan that eliminates the foods that are most likely to cause inflammation, belly distress, hormone disruption and emotional eating. In other words: sugar, alcohol, grains, dairy, legumes, soy, artificial colors, sweeteners and fillers. If you have aches and pains that are troublesome, are having a hard time losing weight, or suffer from a health condition (like skin issues, digestive ailments, seasonal allergies or fertility issues) the symptoms may be directly related to the foods you eat – even the “healthy” stuff. So how do you know if (and how) these foods are affecting you?
You eliminate them for 30 days. Cut them out completely and see what happens. What usually happens is within the 30 days? Your life changes. You make the connection between what you are eating and how you feel. You make the connection between energy levels and what is happening in your gut. You sleep better. You feel better. You look better. The reason we do it for 30 days? First, science. If you have sensitivities to certain foods it takes about 30 days for your body to begin to lose the inflammation those foods cause. Also, it’s do-able. Short enough to make people feel like they can commit, and long enough to feel and and see changes. After 30 days you slowly and methodically add foods back in and see what foods cause you trouble. Then you stay away from those and enjoy the rest! At the very least you realize you aren’t helpless when it comes to how you feel. You hold the power to feel better. When you realize this, your life changes!
How You Can Prepare Now
The very first thing to do is get one or both books and read them: The newest version is Whole 30: A 30 Day Guide to Total Health and Food Freedom (affiliate link) includes a summary of the program, updates and changes, and a lot of new recipes. The older version “It Starts with Food” (affiliate link) is definitely for those of you that want to know the science behind what you are doing. It goes into great detail about each and every step of the plan. So you choose. They are both informative and will give you great education about how certain foods have an effect on body, brain and emotions. And while I will be posting Whole 30 friendly recipes every week throughout September, it would be great to have the recipes in the books too! You have just over two weeks. Get the book now so you are ready to roll on May1st!
Why Do it Together?
There is something to be said for support. For knowing that other people are cheering you on, holding you accountable, and can relate to what you are experiencing. When you follow Facebook Group you will be able to ask questions, share recipes, triumphs, tips, insights and set backs etc I will be offering information daily, make suggestions and help guide you along the process in a completely safe environment. Our group is so nice and supportive! So use the Whole 30 Pinterest board and Facebook Group to help make your food journey easier and more enjoyable. And if you like even more support, grab a spouse, a friend, a co-worker and bring them along. Sennd them the link to this page and get on board the Whole 30 train! We can do this together.

Glad to have you join us Holly!
I am in! I was thinking about it this month. I am glad you posted about it. I need to get rid of the menopause weight.
No joke right?
Is ghee allowed Linda? I’m interested 🙂
Yes! Clarified butter and ghee are both allowed.
YAY!!! Love all the folks who are IN with you!!! And it’s great, the resources you provided for how everyone can prepare, before they start! Wonderful. Have fun!
Thanks Megan! I need to get some of your recipes pinned on my new Whole 30 board!
I love Whole30 too and am planning on fitting it into the Adrenal Re-set in January (I need a few more carbs than Whole30 allows because of some adrenal/thyroid things since having my last baby, but will be following very closely!). If anyone can make Whole30 taste good it’s you! Looking forward to seeing your plans!
Looks like you have a great group here! I have never done a whole 30 – I’ll have to look into it more 🙂 Thanks for the inspiration!
I am in!
I am in!! I am excited to eat clean.
Hi Christine! So glad!
I have had great results with whole 30, good luck!
I’m in! I actually bought the book this morning after learning that my 1 year old is allergic to corn, on top of being dairy and soy intolerant. I started wondering what I was going to feed my child. Pretty much everything processed has corn of some type, so this is the best thing I can do. If she can’t eat it, it will not be in my house!
I am so glad! You will learn a lot and discover a lot of healthy recipes that will benefit your whole family!
I will give it a try. But working has always get in my way of healthy eating. Hope Whole 30 can offer manageable cooking. Can kids join in too?
Hi Joanna, I won’t sugar coat it for you, Whole 30 requires a lot of prep and cooking but I have known many people that succeed even though they work full time. It’s all about the prep. I just posted tips for success and will be posting suggestions for prepping freezer meals, soups etc that make Whole 30 much easier to manage. If you follow the tips provided in the book and on my blog you will be able to do it. Your kids can eat everything on whole 30!
I’m in! I’m ready to change things up a bit and I know I can count on your recipes to be excellent so let’s do this!
I’m so happy!
My husband and I are in!

I don’t see me following this diet 100%, but I’m in 😀
I’m already a member of your email list.
Hi Barb. Whole 30 is an ‘all in’ kind of thing. The concept is that to get at the root of inflammation, health, digestion, and energy level problems as well as learning to deal with the causes of emotional eating etc, strict compliance is necessary. This isn’t about weight, although in every single group I have lead people lose quite a bit, it’s about getting to the core of what ails you. Eliminating all the common ‘triggers’ for 30 days and then slowly reintroducing those foods to see if you have a reaction to them is the point of the program. I would love to have you on board but just want to be honest with you about how it works so there are no surprises! I highly recommend reading the books. The books explain how and why it works, if you don’t understand why strict compliance is necessary, you won’t stick to it. Anyway, head over tot he facebook page for more resources and support! We don’t start until the 1st so you have time to think it through.
Great Rene! i hope you will utilize the FB page!
I am so in !!! I’ll check out your Pinterest board too but I’m not a FB fan !!
Ok welcome aboard. I totally get not being a facebook fan. The Support page is really useful but you can succeed on your own! Many do:)
I am very excited to have seen this and I am in!!! I wanted to start this months ago but was so overwhelmed and discouraged and didn’t try. I am ordering the book tonight. Look forward to doing this together! =)
Amber since you will be starting before reading the book I recommend that you head over to the facebook page and join. Then I recommend that you head over to the Whole 30 website and get aquainted with the rules. At least you can get started with the group while you read the book:)
I was already planning on doing whole 30 in January so I was super excited to see that a group was doing it as well! I did it last year and lost 12 pounds and never felt better! I can’t wait to start again!
Great Jenna! The support really does make a difference!
I’m in! Let’s do this!
Yay! Glad to have you aboard!
3 days late, but if it’s still possible – I’m in!
Oh course! Several people in our group started a day or two late.
I am in and have started this past Monday, January 9 2017. Its good to work with a group and share. I did this last Spring and felt so good, need now to follow the plan and not slip back to old habits. Following the plan is easy because the food is so tasty and good for you. Tiger blood is the best, I got so much done.
Hi! I’ve just landed on your page via your Jalepeno Turkey Burger recipe! I can’t find a date on your posts, so I’m not sure if they’re super old or not. 🙂 If not, I noticed you’re starting another Whole 30 group in March and that’s when I’ve decided to start Whole 30! Can I join in?
Of course! We would love to have you. You can find the facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1723043131259574/
